Wellesley CollegeThe Conference is located on the campus of Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts, in modern, comfortable, and conveniently located accommodations. In addition to the air-conditioned Jewett Arts Center with its Concert Hall, 25 practice studios, two extensive music libraries, and the acoustically famous Houghton Memorial Chapel, the Chamber Music Center has 20 grand pianos, two harpsichords, and the Charles Fisk organ, an early seventeenth-century German replica in mean-tone temperament. Only 30 minutes from Boston, the 500-acre Wellesley Campus is a fine example of the famous long-range planning of Frederick Law Olmstead. The open, peaceful country-like setting includes a large natural-spring lake. Swimming, boating, hiking, and tennis are available on campus. New England provides many attractions: restaurants, theaters, and museums in the metropolitan area and beautiful beaches along the coast.
