Ten Composer Fellows are selected to participate in intensive seminars and public colloquia with Mario Davidovsky and distinguished guest composers; each of the fellows has a work publicly performed and professionally recorded by the Conference Ensemble, James Baker, Director.
These twenty-one new music specialists, under the direction of James Baker, work closely with the Fellows. The concerts by the Ensemble feature classics and rarities from the 18th-21st centuries including music of the Composer Fellows and faculty.
The Chamber Music Workshop, directed by Jessica Tong, offers amateur chamber musicians a tailor-made experience that includes daily coachings, workshops, masterclasses, ensemble readings, performance opportunities and evening concerts.
Students in the Contemporary Performance Institute study and rehearse challenging repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries, culminating in two public concerts. They are coached by director Fred Sherry and members of the Conference Ensemble.
