Contemporary Performance Institute
Margaret Kampmeier, Director
Instrumentalists, singers, and pre-formed ensembles are encouraged to apply to the Contemporary Performance Institute (CPI) at the Composers Conference.
CPI director Margaret Kampmeier and members of the Conference Ensemble provide coachings and private instruction. At the end of each week, the members of CPI present a formal concert. In addition, they may be called upon to perform with the Conference Ensemble. Fromm Foundation CPI Fellows engage with the Composer Fellows and Guest Composers throughout their time at the Conference by performing their music and collaborating on new pieces.
Accepted students gather together in the summer for an intense two-week period of study, coaching, and performance. The repertoire is chosen from the diverse, significant, and far-ranging offerings of the 20th and 21st centuries. We are an inclusive, collaborative environment; Female, trans, non-binary, queer, and musicians of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
