8 for 80 COMMISSIONS

To celebrate our 80th Anniversary, the Composers Conference has asked 8 former Composer Fellows and Guest Composers to each composer a four-minute composition for our Conference Ensemble, conducted by MD Vimbayi Kaziboni.

This crowdsourced project allowed donors to give as little as $25, or become the Lead Commissioner for $4000. Each commissioned work was generously donated by the composers, allowing for donations to go towards supporting and expanding our newly developed Conference projects, such as our CMW Commissioned Work, the New Music/New Communities Initiative and our New Music Conductor Fellowship.

These 8 new works were premiered during our day-long 80th Anniversary Celebration at Avaloch Farm Music Institute on August 4, 2024.
