New Music New Communities Concert
The Composers Conference's New Music/New Communities Initiative(NM/NC) is a project that utilizes the Conference’s role as an arts education organization to inspire and engage young musicians from underserved communities. Through collaborations with local music education organizations in the greater New England area, the Composers Conference provides students with the tools to become composers and creators within a supportive environment, unleashing their personal artistry while fostering enduring creative relationships. The Composers Conference is thrilled to be partnering with the Concord Community Music School and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts for the 2025 season. Join us in celebrating the premieres of four young, promising composers who are currently students at CCMS in Concord, NH and Walnut Hill in MA.

Susan Horvath CMW Commissioned Work Concert
Each year, in honor of the longtime CMW participant and new music advocate Susan Horvath, the Composers Conference selects a Fromm Fellow Composer from the previous year to write a new piece for a joint ensemble of CMW, CPI, and Conference Ensemble musicians.
Join 2025 Fromm Composer Fellow Riccardo Perugini in conversation about his new work, Festivaliera, written for the 2025 Conference. The world premiere performance will be conducted by New Music Conductor Fellow Luka Venter.

Composers Conference Ensemble Concert #4: 80th anniversary gala celebration
The Composers Conference celebrates its 80th Anniversary on August 4, 2024, at Avaloch Farm Music Institute. Our Gala Concert at 4pm will feature the premieres of our 8 for 80 Commissions, the 2024 New Music /New Communities pieces, and selected Community Commissions works. Following the performance will be our Gala Dinner; seating is limited to 60. There are also a limited number of rooms available for an overnight stay on the grounds of AFMI on the night of August 4 for a fee of $150. All questions regarding lodging should be directed to AFMI at avalochfarm@gmail.com.
